Bowel cancer can present in different ways – bleeding (especially dark blood or blood mixed in with the stool), a new change in your bowel habits or sudden loss of weight, or new abdominal pain are some of the classic symptoms that people with bowel cancer can develop. But some people may not have any symptoms at all, and instead can have a low blood count or low iron levels on blood tests. These symptoms or blood test findings warrant urgent assessment with your GP and then specialist.
