Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), also known as Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), usually refers to the narrowing of the arteries supplying blood to the legs and feet.1 This restriction limits blood flow to the lower limbs, making it difficult for oxygen to reach the tissues in those areas. Once PAD is present, medical management will not reverse the disease process. However, it can slow its progression and help prevent further cardiovascular complications.
