    First thing to do is not panic. The majority of breast lumps are benign. You should see your GP first who will take your history and perform a clinical exam. They will then arrange imaging for you (usually a mammogram and ultrasound). A biopsy then may be done and then referral to a Breast Surgeon. This is referred to as the “triple test” (clinical assessment, imaging and biopsy), which is the standard method of investigating a breast lump.
