An enlarged adrenal gland is commonly found on CT scans. If you have an enlarged adrenal gland it’s important to see your doctor for assessment. The CT scan can suggest what is the cause of the enlargement and your doctor will assess if the adrenal gland is producing too much hormone. Enlarged adrenal glands can cause high blood pressure by producing too much adrenal hormone and cause sometimes cause symptoms such as pain or pressure. If the adrenal gland is large, producing hormone or suspicious for a cancer, it is important to see a specialist such as an Endocrine Surgeon so the adrenal gland and your preferences for treatment can be assessed.
