    People with foot problems and diabetes mellitus are at 15 times higher risk of undergoing an amputation somewhere in the lower limb. To prevent complications like this, and keep you in great conditions, our podiatrists will teach you about the diabetic foot, assess your risk and monitor your feet for changes over time. Diabetes is a complex disorder that has wide reaching implications on the foot and lower limb. As such, annual diabetic foot assessments are necessary for all people with diabetes 15% of those with diabetes will have foot ulceration at some time during their lives. Sadly, in Australia only 50% of people with diabetes have undergone a foot assessment, despite foot assessments being shown to be effective at identifying those at high risk of foot ulceration and amputation.
