1. Increase in the amount of vaginal discharge
2. Lower abdominal pressure
3. Low dull backache
4. Abdominal cramps and sometimes diarrhoea
5. Frequent, regular contractions (eight times an hour for more than 1 hour)
6. A gush or trickle of water, which could indicate that your membranes have ruptured
