Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon
Good morning. I am a head and neck and thyroid / parathyroid surgeon. Last month I returned to Australia from New York where I have been practicing for the past decade. I was one of the early adopters of radiofrequency ablation of thyroid nodules in New York, performing the first procedure in the city in August 2019.
I am pleased to announce that I will be starting a radiofrequency ablation program for Thyroid Nodules in Melbourne next month (March 2021).
I will post again once details are finalized. There will be an out-of-pocket charge for the procedure as in the United States as at the current time there is no Medicare or private health insurance reimbursement.
If you have any questions you can reach out to me at

Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon
Hi everyone,
An update to my prior post. The radiofrequency program for benign thyroid nodules has been up and running now for 3 months in Melbourne. It is going very well and patients fly in from all around Australia to undergo the procedure. So far, one month results are excellent with 30-50% volume reduction at one month with 24 nodules ablated to date. Please email me direclty on catherine@melbournethyroidsurgery.com.au with any questions regarding the procedure.
Warmly
Catherine Sinclair
