I am a 50 year old healthy male who has been diagnosed with severe OA in my left hip and left knee. My G P recommended seeing a surgeon and booking in for a replacement but I still have really good mobility the OA is not affecting my lifestyle and I'm not in pain. I would rather keep seeing my physiotherapist for strengthening exercises and getting on with things than opting to have surgery straight away. I only take panadol occasionally and voltaren for my knee but other than that I don't need any pain medication. Am I on the right track ?
Many of my friends have been diagnosed recently with different types of arthritis including gout, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis etc. Which is the most common form of arthritis is in Australia?
