You should have a thorough examination first, then a plan made to excise the lesion - this will depend on the size, site, shape and base of the wart.
Each specialist has their own preference on how they like to remove them. For a small wart in an easy-to-get-to area - most would remove under local at your first visit and follow you up for a pathology check. If its larger or in an area which may require some more time - then you may be scheduled for a second visit to remove it. If possible avoid aspirin, anti inflammatories and fish oil for 7days prior so if you are to have it removed on the first visit, any bleeding or bruising will be minimal.
