Physiotherapist
I would suggest that you see your GP first, who can organize some scan to determine what structures and to what extent that they are involved. From there, he will be able to advise you to see whether physio or orthopedic surgeon.

Low back pain can be caused by multiple factors. An osteopath will undertake a detailed medical history followed by a thorough physical examination. Prior to the commencment of hands-on treatment the osteopath would have come up with a diagnosis and the possible reason/s of your low back pain. This will allow the osteopath to do one or some of the following:
- perform the appropriate hands-on treatment and if required prescribe appropriate exercises for your condition
- send you for scans
- advise you to see your GP for further examination or testing if required
If you are taking painkillers this will only musk your pain and can likely do more damage. It would be best to consult with an osteopath/physiotherapist/chiropractor in order to address the primary cause of your pain. All the best!
