    Hi,

Firstly you need a specific diagnosis to give proper treatment and advice. If it is a pinched nerve (normally associated with cervical radiculopathy) then the level and associated signs and symptoms would impact on the severity, prognosis and recovery.

Cervical Radiculopathy is nerve irritation or compression with associated referral pain or altered sensation to the arm, hand or fingers

After a proper assessment and examination the usual treatments are:

    • Manual therapy to the joints
    • Education on work postures and aggravating activities
    • Massage and soft tissue release
    • Neural mobilisation
    • Postural or stretching or neck stabilization exercises

Medical management really is dependent on the severity and usually involve the use of analgesics if necessary (for pain), sometimes neck bracing and sometimes surgery.

Physical therapy is 1st line treatment.

Without proper assessment no specific treatment or exercise prescription can be given

See a healthcare practitioner as soon as possible as these usually settle quite easily

    Cheers,
