Is it dangerous to have low iron levels?
I recently had my iron levels tested as follow up and was told my ferretin level had dropped to 6 and something else was 5 I want to know is this low and if so is it dangerous. I experience no symptoms of low iron and will not go back on iron tablets. I also do not eat anything green or alot of red meat -

Ferritin is a blood protein which stores iron.
Its normal range is about 18-270 ng/mL in men and 18-160 ng/mL for women.
The results of your test ("6") sound very low to me.
I suggest that you go back to your doctor and discuss this with him/her. There are many possible reasons for a low ferritin level - these are summarised here; http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/ferritin?page=2
