What is normally involved in the management of Bowel cancer with secondary liver cancer?

    Related Topic
My mother has just been diagnosed with bowel cancer and secondary liver cancer. She will be undergoing a colonoscopy with the chance that she will receive a colonoscopy bag. Her specialist has not yet discussed treatment for her liver. The CT Scan shows a 10x7cm tumor. I am wondering if it is usual practise to obtain a biopsy whilst doing the colonoscopy? When the treatment will start ? Are there any specific questions I should be asking the specialist?
