You sound like you're struggling terribly at the moment. Although we can want to put our past behind us, sometimes our minds won't let go of painful memories and experiences so easily. It is also difficult to quickly change the habitual thinking patterns that lead us into anxiety, depression, and stress. It sounds like you really need a competent team of health professionals to support you at the moment. Your GP is a good first stop. Medicare provides rebates for appointments with mental health professionals to make help more obtainable. Your GP can refer you to a psychologist and enable you to access the appropriate Medicare rebates. You could also phone your state health services to ask them about services and support in your area. Beyond Blue have a website which lists the professionals in your area who might be qualified to help you (www.beyondblue.org.au).
All the best
