Hi,
Car accidents can have a large impact on both physical and psychological well being. It's important both are addressed and any anxiety or Post Traumatic Stress should be managed by a Psychologist or Psychiatrist.
When it comes to your whiplash injury, once cleared of serious injury (such as fracture etc.) by imaging rehabilitation should focus on gentle active range of movement, isometric cervical strengthening targeting deep cervical flexor muscles and also postural strength (around the shoulder blades). In terms of returning to normal work and exercise I think you should talk to your GP about a referral to an Exercise Physiologist who can work on incorporating the whiplash exercises into a functional program to build your strength and endurance. Hope this helps.
