Sutures may need to be removed early because of a wound becoming infected in which case the wound may come apart at the edges. Once the infection has cleared with antibiotics (no pus and minimal redness / heat/ swelling) then the wound will heal naturally by the formation of granulation tissue. The granulation tissues forms across the “gap” between the edges of the wound and appears bright pink and glossy. Over time, this tissue becomes stronger because of keratin and it will appear more like the tissue around it.
This process normally takes a few weeks (it takes 1-2 years for a scar tissue to fully mature and become pale) but this take take a lot longer (months) when there has been an infection. You mention that the cyst was removed from underneath a scar tissue, so the wound would already take longer to heal; it would not be surprising if it takes 2-3 months to fully heal depending on how big the wound was and whether there are other factors thigh might impair wound healing (long term medical conditions, medications, site on the body etc). It's certainly worth an experienced health care professional looking at it.
