The common reason that “core stability” is referred to as the ultimate injury prevention is on the premise that it reduces the forces generated through the spinal joints by distributing the force through a greater area and reducing stresses to the articular structures by providing a bracing type effect.
Although core stability is important in the injury prevention of an sports person (or every person), it is not the entire picture. For example, you can have a fantastic core stability, but if you have poor spinal stabalisation or weak glutes or poor proprioception you can still suffer the injury.

Having really good core stability is fundamental. If you have good core stability, it's going to help you support muscles in your back.
Core stability provides a lot of support for all of your other major muscles and all your major movements.
If you have good core stability, when you are doing normal daily activities, you are not putting strain in your areas where you shouldn't be.
A good core stability, helps prevent, especially back injuries, lower back, neck, upper back.
