  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

How do I find a reliable, local GP who has their own practice?

I live in the Ingleburn / Campbelltown /Liverpool area. I have diagnosed Recurrent Major Depressive Disorder, suffer from intermittent anxiety that is most prevalent while I am sleeping (self-bruising and waking then vomiting/ waking in migraine), and have figured out over the last 18 months that I have a Gluten and Lactose intolerance. My current Dr is good, but heavily restricted by the medical centre he is affiliated with and always in a rush. Eg- I have requested a new Mental Health Care Plan drawn up so that I can tart using my Medicare allowed psychology sessions during my last FOUR visits and have jut left with a refill of my 30mg Oxeazpam script - I have been being ‘monitored’ every 11-12 days since August 2012. The frequency (infrequency) of these visits is making work difficult, the amount/combination of my medications concerns me, and I need find a doctor.

    I am currently prescribed-
    Morning- 1x 100mg Pristiq
    Night - 2x 25mg Dothep, 2x 30mg Oxazepam, 1x Lactase enzyme tab

I would really appreciate any recommendations or suggestions. I am happy to travel 30 mins or so if it means I can get a good, reliable Doctor. Thanks. Amie.
