The best way to prevent cramping is to keep well hydrated, and also to keep up your salt.
Certain salts like potassium and magnesium are suggested to be associated with cramps. You maintain your salt and your fluid through exercise and you can take supplements for your salts.
You could take tablet or just keep an electrolyte type fluid.
Stretching when you get a cramp is also a good way it can help to try and ease the cramp and also prevent it from reoccurring while doing the same activity.
