I think that this is something that you should discuss with your prescribing GP/psychiatrist.
In my private experience, responses to psych meds can vary a lot - the first antidepressant that I was on was, for me, worse than useless (bad suicidal ideation) but the one that I am on now is, for me, great.
You might find this site helpful: http://www.drugs.com/pro/ .It is FDA-based, searchable and lists the known side-effects of meds.
It might help if you read what it has to say about Efexor and Risperdone and talk about what you learn from that with your health professionals.

If you haven't done so, you could have a read of this resource: https://www.madinamerica.com/
Of course, it is imperative to discuss this with a professional who has a detailed understanding of you and your history. You could contact an integrative GP such as http://wellmed.com.au/
