Is rough patch on cervix likely to be cancer?

There's a small patch on my cervix that feels (with finger) rough, while the rest is smooth and perfectly rounded. What's normal for a cervix? I haven't had a pap smear for many years as they are highly traumatic. I have some bleeding before each period, sharp pains through vagina area and period pain most of the month. Is this likely to be cancer, or could it be normal?

On behalf of the Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation, Dr Pecoraro suggests that these symptoms could be because of a variety of reasons but it is imperative that you see your GP who can then refer you to a Gynaecologist who will be able to diagnose you more specifically.
