Chiropractic craniopathy is an advanced aspect of sacro-occipital technique (SOT) as well as a complete system of health care on it's own. The focus of craniopathy is the physical position of the 22 interlinked bones of the skull and the resulting function of the central nervous system.
Craniopathy is based on the knowledge that the position of the cranial bones determines the position of an anatomical structure known as dura mater, a tough membranous sheath that contains the cerebral-spinal fluid (CSF). The CSF is what delivers oxygen and food to the brain and spinal cord.In theory, if the cranial bones and dura mater are misaligned, the circulation of cerebral-spinal fluid is blocked which results in pain and dysfunction. After the location of blockage is determined, a light force adjustment is performed. By aligning the cranial bones, the CSF can circulate properly which increases the function of the central nervous system.
