    There is no direct link between ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease and sleep apnoea. However both conditions are linked to inflammation, so there may a more indirect cause. For those with sleep apnoea, the most common risk factor is obesity.

    it is just interesting I know a lot of people with IBD ie UC and Crohns who have breathing and sleeping difficulties me being one of them, so are you saying that the inflamation of IBD may cause sleep apnea? or symptoms similar to this condition.  would loosing weight also stop a person from having sleep apnea?
