Any exercise is safe to do, as long as you have gone and sought some advice from an accredited exercise physiologist. You should have some supervised sessions until you feel confident and comfortable with a program, and then you should go on to self-manage.

There is no exercise that is unsafe for anyone who has been initially diagnosed with osteoporosis. You can do some light resistance training like cardiovascular exercise or if you are really concerned about falls then hydrotherapy is a good option - doing some non-weight bearing exercise in the pool. This still helps build a certain amount of muscle tone, but not to the same effect as land-based exercise. If you are very concerned then you can start with that and as your confidence improves, you can move on to other exercise.
