This is not a common experience for most women after hysterectomy. However, some things need to be considered. The reason why the hysterectomy was performed in the first place is important. For example, if there were abnormal cells or a history of abnormal Pap smears. Also for many women vaginal dryness after hysterectomy can be problematic, and if sexually active bleeding can occur after sexual intercourse. Some medications can cause vaginal bleeding - an example of this is some antidepressants. It is most important that you see your Dr. for initial investigations. A referral to a a specialist gynaecologist may be required. Whilst vaginal cancer is rare it needs to be excluded.
