Podiatrist (General)
Plantar warts are caused by a vira infection, a subtype of the human papilloma virus (HPV). Like other types of warts, they can be difficult to treat, more so because the majority of the tissue of a plantar wart lies beneath the level of the skin.
Podiatrists utilise a variety of options to treat plantar warts; from high strength topical acids, to liquid nitrogen (freezing), hyfrecation (burning) or currettage (excision). Generally all of these treatment options are about as successful as each other - though none is guaranteed to prevent a recurrence.
Some warts may closely resemble a corn, so have a podiatrist assess you first, then they can advise on which treatment options suits you best.

Podiatric Surgeon, Podiatrist (General)
See a podiatrist for assessment. There are a range of topical treatments available which are often useful. Some people prefer to use liquid nitrogen to treat plantar warts but it can be quite painful and often requires several treatments. Electrocautery and currettage are useful surgical techniques also which might be suggested. Kind regards
