Without knowing your husbands medical/dietary history it is difficult to pin-point what may be causing his tiredness.
Lack of sleep is normally the main reason for feeling lethargic. Carrying excess body weight can disrupt a deep sleep routine which can cause tiredness throughout the day as your body has not had the opportunity to fully rest. If your husband is carrying excess body weight it might be worth talking to your GP about sleep apnea.
Other things that may be contributing to your husbands fatigue may include:
- stress
- a viral infection/cold
- low iron, folate or vitamin B12 levels
- nutrient malabsorption caused by any number of conditions (eg. coeliac disease etc)
It may be beneficial for your husband to talk to his GP, especially if his lethargic condition is starting to interfere with his daily activities. If it turns out to be dietary related, an Accredited Practicing Dietitian can help to ensure his diet is nutritionally optimised and balanced.

Thank you very much for your reply, much appreciated. He is pretty trim and sleeps very soundly so i would think we might look into the low iron, folate and B12 levels / or malabsorption. He isn't healing very well from strains in his body (ie, unde rhis shoulder when playing with the kids etc) so it oculd be a deifciency. Cheers
