There are 2 most common types of Blepharitis: meibominitis affecting meibomian (oil) glands on our lid margin and anterior blephiritis affecting lid margins. One can notice crusty irritating debris on the eyelids. Lid hygeine is the most effective way to prevent and manage infection associated with Blepharitis. Daily application of hot compress on closed eye lid for 5 minutes followed by lid massage and thorough cleaning is essential to prevent further complications. Sometimes, further treatment is necessary.
