Whether short sightness will get worse or not is not effected by you not wearing glasses. Normally shortsightness will get worse for a period of time and then stop - this maybe 6 - 12 months - this may be many years, but how bad it gets is not effected by you wearing or not wearing your specs.
So if your not comfortable wearing them just use them as you need them safe in the knowledge your not making your eyes worse…. if they are going to get worse they will anyway

Actually the latest research is showing quite conclusively that uncorrected peripheral blur on the retina (ie not corrected with glasses or contact lenses) will contribute to the eyeball elongating (increasing short sightedness).
COnversely wearing that prescription for reading adn computer will contribute to eye strain and encourage the process to worsen. It is definite that a different prescription is beneficial at the reading distance for prevention.
