    How serious is Crohn's disease?

    I was recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease but have begun to make some lifestyle changes. How serious is my condition? Will it affect my daily life?

    This is hard to answer as only your doctor can really answer this as he has seen your disease on the colonoscopy. However our disease can be serious if left untreated as there can be many things go wrong because of the disease - maybe make a list of your questions and ask your doctor about it.

    If your disease is active then yes it will impact on your daily life, ie diarrhoea, pain, possible nausea, faecal incontinence and many other things. The main thing is to work with your Gastroenterologist to try to get into remission. You could also do an internet seach to see what support groups are available.
