How to help a friend who has a gambling addiction?

    Related Topics
A friend of mine who is 56 has been gambling for years. He goes 6 out of 7 days of the week to the local casino and plays slot machines, table games and buys lotto tickets. Obviously he has a net loss, but he continues to go for the thrill of it thinking he will win. I personally think he needs to stop because his wife his worried and he isn't at home with the children much. What should I do?

This is not something that can be overcome quickly especially if he is in denial that he has a problem. Unless he admits he has a problem then there is not much you can do.
His wife could limit his access to money and give him an allowance.
He probably will not see a counsellor but she could and they can give her some tips and hints.
Google Gambling counsellors and you will find one near to you - they are free to see.
