Because Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a genetic disorder, there are no curative treatments. After diagnosis the focus should turn to management of the condition. This can involve addressing symptoms such as pain, mobility issues, orthopedic concerns, independence, education and much more.
Patient education is one of the most important factors in management of EDS due to the lack of informed health professionals. Often the patient needs to be the expert and be able to share necessary knowledge with health providers.
