Could this be the early signs of deep vein thrombosis?

I am an overweight smoker and have noticed that my legs have become swollen and red. I don't know what it could be so should I see a doctor? Could it be deep vein thrombosis?

Have throbbing pain in my right leg ( not the calf) at the front nearer the ankle at night.   This has started since I returned from overseas about 6 weeks ago.   I have af and have had a mild heart attack. I take a statin, digoxin and tambocor as well as 1 cartia daily.
i have not seen a doctor yet but it seems to be getting worse.   I have no swelling and no temperature, and during the day no pain.  Should I make an appointment with a doctor.

Just getting over a pulminory embolism in my lung caused from a DVT in my calf.  I urge you to see a Dr asap.  I thought I had strained my calf muscle and didn't realise it was DVT until the embolism which could have been fatal.  Any swelling, redness, heat or pain should be investigated.  Hope this helps you. :)
