From what you have written it appears you may be suffering from a mood disorder, although without more information it is difficult to say anything more meaningful. It sounds to me that you feel that you are being controlled by your emotions which is reducing your quality of life. It also sounds like drug therapy has been unsatisfactory for you, and that you are reluctant to continue taking medications “natural” or otherwise.
I am unsure by what you mean as counselling. CBT and IPT - talking therapies - have been shown to be very helpful for people dealing with emotional dysfunction (such as depression and anxiety) buit only when a good understanding exists between the psychologust and the client. If you have been provided counselling by a non-psychologist I would suggest you make contact with a psychologist via your GP under Medicare's Better Access Scheme. If you have been seeing a psychologist, I would guess that you have not established a good rapport or understanding with them, and that your treatment has therefore been unsatisfactory. A list of psychologists can be obtained here www.psychology.org.au/findapsychologist .
I wish you well.

Your treatment for your problem is a partnership between you and your health professionals. If you have questions about your treatment or indeed the diagnosed problem that they are treating, you should ask questions. Medication can be extremely helpful but if it is not working or if there are unwanted side effects you need to mention these to your doctor and they can change doses or the medication itself. They cannot do this if you don't speak up confidently. You probably need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP to a psychologist that they work with regularly. A specific diagnoses needs to be made and a plan drawn up so that you and they work together on the same problem. The psycho-education component of your treatment under the MHCP should involve a full explanation of your diagnosis and what you are all jointly going to be do about it. Remember that you are the expert in the experience of your own problem and are accessing health professionals to help you build the resources and skills to deal with it. You are not a passive recipient of “treatment”.

to your account or now (it's free).I saw two physcologist before I found one that I felt comfortable with, both my gp and physcologist wanted me on medication I did try the natural route but I wasn't getting any where so I finally decided to take the anti depressants that and therapy helped me a lot. I no longer see a physcologist but I am still on medication hoping one day I can get of them but they can help and if you find the right physcologist you can get better. and don't worry if you feel like you can not relate to a physcologist you can see another one that is what I did. . good luck I do hope you start to feel well. take care
