    The cost of an abortion will depend on whether you are accessing a medical abortion or a surgical abortion, on your location, and on the gestation of your pregnancy. Abortion legislation and access varies across each state and territory in Australia (some states have predominatly public provision and others are predominatly private)

    There is a medicare item number for surgical abortion. Currently there is no medicare item number for medical abortion.
