When should I seek help for stress?

I feel that I am constantly stressed out - at work, at home with the kids, even when I try to sleep at night. Is it time for me to seek a professional?

It seems that the time is right for you to seek help as you have already started doing so by posing this question here.  At times a little bit of stress can be productive to motivate you to get things done but when it starts to interfere with your sleep patterns and causes you distress it's time to seek help.  This can either be through an individual session with a counsellor/psychologist/social worker or in a group program where you can learn with and from others who have a similar experience.  The earlier you do this the better as high levels of stress unattended to can lead to other health issues.  The best place to start might be talking to your GP about it, and they can refer you to a suitable professional.
