What medications are best to treat anxiety and depression

I am 40 years old and have just been diagnosed with depression and anxiety and my doctor put my on Prozac, I was wondering if there are other/ more suitable/ better medications out there to help treat me?

A psychiatrist appointment may be able to help you look at all of the medication options and I would recommend also going to a psychologist or counsellor because a lot of the research says that a combination of medication and counselling is most effective (along with a good diet and exrcise too!) All the best with your journey :)
