Is it worth having a flu injection?

I never used to have any illnesses during winter - until my grandchildren started school and kindie.

Does anyone know if the flu vaccine will stop you from catching colds from your grandchildren etc, or whether it will just make the symptoms lighter?

    Hi Anne,

From my experiance the flu injection hasnt helped in fighting the common cold- it just stops you getting the more severe flu strain which is dangerous for pregnant women and the elderly.

Unfortunately kids carry so many germs that its difficult not to catch it from them. I would recommend you investigate in getting some good multi vitamins and remedies to support your immune system during the winter period.

    Regards,
