Mr Brough specialised in Urology which he learned in registrar posts at St James’s University Hospital in Leeds, the Morriston Hospital in Swansea, Cardiff Royal Infirmary and the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia. After 5 years of Consultant Practice in the UK, Mr Brough migrated to Tasmania with his family in 2000 to take up a post at the Launceston General Hospital where he still works.
Mr Brough has extensive experience in most areas of Urology but he has subspecialty interests in LASER SURGERY of the prostate and kidney stones, and in urinary incontinence and reconstruction. He holds Fellowships in Urology from the UK and Australia as well as a Completion of Specialist Training Certificate in Urology from the European Union. He is a full member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) and a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS).
Mr Brough has a career commitment to Continuing Medical Education (CME), attending at least two national or international meetings every year to keep abreast of new techniques. He is a committee member of the Tasmanian Audit of Surgical Mortality (TASM) and convened the Tasmanian Urological Surgeons Annual Meeting in 2013. He is the Head of the Urology Unit at the Launceston General Hospital and the current chairman of the Uro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Group that meets twice monthly at the Holman Clinic at the LGH.
