Special interests

Dr Ball’s practice includes all areas of adult Cardiology. He sees patients with chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, abnormal heart rhythms, dizziness and blackouts. He has a particular interest in diseases of the coronary arteries (which become narrowed in patients suffering angina or heart attacks) and heart valve disease. He is also interested in chest pain syndromes which can mimic angina, such as cardiac syndrome X and has published on this subject. He maintains a specialist interest in all aspects and modalities of echocardiography and provides a transoesophageal echocardiography service at SDMH.
