Subspecialty interest and expertise in Neurovascular Surgery (Includes minimally invasive microsurgery for intracranial aneurysms and microsurgery for complex aneurysms, AVM's, cranial and spinal AV Fistulas, ECIC Bypass surgery for Moya Moya, steno-occlusive disease, complex & giant aneurysms and skullbase tumors).  Additional specialties in Neurosurgery include paediatric, epilepsy, neuro-oncology, skull base surgery, awake and endoscopic brain surgery, cranial and spinal surgery.   A/Prof Abou-Hamden is passionate about leading excellence in patient care and achieving best patient outcomes.
